The No Good Redwood Ramlers were on their way from Arcata, CA to Alaska for a fishing trip, and stopped by my Olympia residence to spend the night. They brought all of their instruments in from the car and started to pickin' just as soon as they arrived. I told them I had been interested in collecting modern interpretations of Carter Family tunes. They asked me if I knew "The Storms are on the Ocean" (or "The World May Lose Its Motion," depending on how you look at it) and insisted that I play something. There was a fiddle upstairs, and I don't know how to fiddle... but hey, why not? This was the very first recording for the project, upstairs in my living room at Chez Puget. Presently as I write, one can catch this band playing every Friday evening at the 3 Foods Cafe in Arcata.

I joined the fanclub and have been enjoying the random KB albums I'm unfamiliar with (there are a lot LOL) I must say this was a brilliant stand out. These two tracks breathe in a way music always should, relaxed on the edge of my seat Harvey Cliff
