This band is an extraordinary group of women who formed as Margy Pepper shortly after moving to Olympia for college. They invited me to record them in their home, in the practice room. The practice room is no more than 10'x10”, and I had to climb up into the rafters where they generally store equipment. The band below me, blasting at full volume, was shaking the room with their imaginative and rollicking rendition of the Carter Family's “Waltzing.” It's a little bit distorted but still one of my favorite tunes on this collection. Check them out next time they come through your area!
